Services
At Meg McGuire Mental Health, I offer Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, Family Coaching, Nutritional Support and Mindful Movement Support.
Individual Therapy
I meet with teens (14+) and adults who are looking to work through traumas, explore relational or family conflicts, understand their maladaptive behaviors (eating disorders, compulsive exercise, substance use, etc.), navigate life transitions, contend with their anxiety or depression, and more. In a safe, one-on-one setting, I help clients gain insight into their personal lives and find an overall sense of agency. I work collaboratively with my clients to set therapeutic goals, and always keep such goals top of mind during our time together.

Family Therapy

I take a 360-degree view when working with families, and believe that the entire family system plays a part in the overall dysfunction. I create a welcoming, comfortable environment, and ensure that every voice in the family is both heard and understood. I work with families to establish goals they are looking to address in family therapy, and use specific interventions to strategically reach such goals.
$250 per session
Family Coaching

Families (parents, siblings and partners) are often profoundly affected by the mental health challenges of their loved ones. I find that families not only find it difficult to understand the nuances of diagnoses like eating disorders, addiction and personality disorders, but they also struggle to know what to say or do when interacting with their loved ones. I provide coaching to help families navigate these unique situations, which includes communication strategies, boundary setting techniques and psychoeducation.
$195 per session
Eating Disorder Exposure Therapy
I believe that in vivo exposure therapy is a crucial part of eating disorder recovery, as it helps to both neutralize foods and experiences around foods/meals. Whether it be eating out at restaurants, facing fear/binge foods, cooking or grocery shopping, I provide therapeutic support and help guide clients through these challenging moments in the real world.
$250 per hour (including travel time)
Mindful Movement Support
Many of my eating disorder clients have a history of compulsive exercise. While it's sometimes necessary to stop working out completely, I find that clients eventually want to return to some sort of physical activity in a contained way. I help my clients navigate this journey, and we collaboratively re-negotiate what mindful movement looks like for them and their bodies. This might look like going on a mild hike or attending a gentle yoga class, and then therapeutically processing the experience. Movement should be about connecting with your body, not about counting steps or calories.
